2025AD

Autonomous driving promises to change our everyday lives in many ways. In a new series on 2025AD, the online platform for automated driving, Prof. Jutta Stender-Vorwachs and Hans Steege address the exciting legal issues raised by this technological revolution. Are autonomous vehicles allowed to sacrifice one human life to save ten others?
Will it be possible for the police to take selfdriving cars off the streets?  Who is liable when a vehicle in autopilot mode causes an accident?  These and other questions will be dealt with by Stender-Vorwachs and Steege, who are both members of the Law Faculty of the Leibniz University Hanover, in a six-part series. The first part, which analyses the ethical dilemma of autonomous driving, has already been published.
The English language social web platform 2025AD is a market place for ideas regarding automated and networked driving.  It was started in January 2016 and now each month over 10,000 experts, decision-makers or consumers visit the website. You can not only find background analysis, news and information graphics, but also an extensive database of studies. All users can discuss the published articles with the Community here - on the website as well as using social media.
