Hans Steege
Professor Dr. iur. Habil. Jutta Stender-Vorwachs LL.M. and Mr Hans Steege are responsible for the scientific leadership of the Research Area Automated and Autonomous Driving as well as Electric Mobility.
The goal is interdisciplinary research and the legal evaluation of automated and autonomous vehicles as well as electro mobility.
The research covers all legal aspects. It covers problems of criminal liability for negligence in automated and autonomous vehicles, the civil liability of drivers and owners as well as product and producer liability and private insurance law.
One focus of the research is the area of data protection, telecommunications and media law. In the field of data protection, the research is carried out both on the basis of the German legal framework and on a forward-looking European level with regard to the European General Data Protection Regulation. In addition, the fundamental legal implications of data protection are also examined.

In the field of public law, fundamental rights aspects in particular play an important role in the legal evaluation of automated and autonomous driving.
Furthermore, in the area of public law, research is being carried out into licensing law and special administrative law, including policing law problems.
The international and European legal framework of automated and autonomous driving is also examined.
